Alterations to existing outbuilding

The application is for the whole sites use class to be updated from Class C3 to Class C3b to be able to utilise the existing buildings on site to become a small-scale specialist care facility to provide care for adults with learning difficulties / or autism. There would be 4 full time residents in the main Balan House, with the opportunity for one further resident in Balan Bungalow.

T1 - silver birch (approx age > 80 years)- severely damanged due to many branches being removed as T2 fell onto house during storm on Friday 14 November 2025 and was intertwined. resulting removal of T2 required removal of branches of T1. Suspected Birch polypore fungus/razor strop. Full removal requested. T3 - silver birch (approx age > 80 years) - superlifted canopy, suspected Birch polypore fungus/razor strop. Full removal requested. T4 - silver birch (approx age > 80 years) - hazard beam fracture of canopy. Suspected Birch polypore fungus/razor strop. Full removal requested. T5- silver birch (approx age > 80 years) - superlifted canopy, suspected Birch polypore fungus/razor strop. Full removal requested. T6 - silver birch (approx age > 80 years) - severe trunk crack, sever decay, poor health. Suspected Birch polypore fungus/razor strop. Full removal requested.

T3 Oak NGR 399812, 274144 - Tree to be felled due to ganoderma. Replacement tree to be planted. Gavin Boyes (Senior Tree Officer) has been out to inspect the tree and unfortunately confirmed ganoderma and decay spanning around 50% of the perimeter of the trunk.

T1 Lime - Fit 2 cobra brace systems at 16m due to include forks at 5m and 6m and cavity base running up to 2m. Crown lift to 4m to allow better view to the field. T2 Black Pine - reduce 2m from properties due to proximity to properties. Crown lift to 4m to allow better view onto field. T3 Lime - crown lift to 4m to allow better view onto field. T4 - crown lift to 4m to allow better view onto field.

Formation of mezzanine floors and associated external alterations

Proposed single storey rear extension.

T1 Oak The tree is located in the gardens of the above property.It was reduced 5 years ago. We are wanting to remove new growth and deadwood ONLY.

Single storey flat roof rear extension projecting 6m with an eaves height of 2.7m and overall height of 3m.

T1 Oak; Lift canopy to 8m T2 Oak; Lift canopy to 6m T3 Beech; Lift canopy to 6m. Reduce south westerly limb T4 Oak; Remove 3 lower limbs and 1 secondary limb to lift canopy.

First floor extension over existing garage. Single storey rear extension

This application is for multiple trees that are situated on the School site. This work has been identified from a recent tree inspection in accordance with Birmingham City Councils program tree survey inspections. This survey is carried out to highlight dangerous trees that could pose a risk to the health and safety of people that may use this site. Other remedial work is also often highlighted to minimize some of the minor negatives that trees an cause e.g. reducing a canopy away from buildings and crown lifting. T11 Oak: The level of off-balance crown weight on the heavily leaning main stem. Work recommendation is to fell to ground level due to the excessive lean. T10 Oak: Excessive deadwood in crown overhang main drive. Work recommendation is to crown clean, removing all dead wood and defective and crossing branches. T9 Oak : Crossing branches in crown, branches resting on phone wires, deadwood in crown over driveway. Work recommendation is to crown clean, removing all dead wood and defective and crossing branches.

Formation of habitable room in roofspace with front and rear velux rooflights

Two parking bays opposite property. Conifer tree fronting two parking bays to 30 Bear Hill Drive. Crown lifting required as branches encroaching parking bays. Approx HT 2M

Conversion of part of old agricultural building currently used as household and garden store into a yoga studio, installation of air source heat pump, installation of solar panels, and associated works

Oak tree to the right of the gate leading to the Beoley Parish Council Field. Beoley Parish Council have asked us to remove the bough as when they have events, higher vehicles cannot gain access. The proposed work is therefore to remove the bough.

Reduce all overhanging branches of T1 Beech back to the boundary line to remove encroachment and prevent further damage. All works to be carried out by a qualified Arborist in accordance with BS3998
