Single story pitched roof extension.

The proposed works are a repeat of the maintenance previously approved under TPO19/213. The Oak tree is a significant feature of the garden at 10 Sheltwood Close; however, recent regrowth of epicormic shoots and extension of the lower canopy are now encroaching on the residential amenity and reducing light levels to the property. The intention is to crown lift and thin the tree to its previously approved proportions to ensure its continued health and structural integrity while managing its size within a residential setting. All works will be carried out by an approved tree surgeon and will meet the relevant standards, for example BS 3998:2010, to ensure no long-term detriment to the tree.

Replace two original doors with fire resistant copies and replace two modern kitchen doors with fire resistant doors, as required by HW Fire Department. Original doors to be retained on site

To carry out recommended remedial works following recent tree survey as per attached work schedule required within 12 & 24 months and as follows: Works Required within 12 months: Hawthorn T12 & T33, Cherry T14, Limes T15 & T20, Maple T17, Prunus T29 & Alder T69 to remove epicormic growths; Lime T13 to raise low canopy to 2.5m; Apple T35 to fell as inappropriately located for long term retention; Works required within 24 months: Goat Willow T23 & Maple T25 to repollard. Reasons: Good arboricultural practice/recommended works following H&S tree survey undertaken March 2026.

The property is being re developed, it currently has no roof. The new roof approved by planning last year Is an attic truss roof. This will require a crane to lift them into place. 2 branches overhanging the front of the property will prevent the crane from lifting them into position. Approx 8 to 10 ft of the 2 branches would need to be removed to allow this. The neighbouring property has a low horizontal branch which prevents the crane from getting the trusses through the existing gap between the 2 trees. Removal of the 2 branches on the tree in front of 116, would seem the best option. We are looking to install the roof in the next 2 weeks, so hopefully a decision can be reached, so that the build can continue.
