What this application is

Work: Removal

This TPO application proposes removal to a protected tree in Bromsgrove and Redditch. The council has eight weeks to decide and may negotiate a lighter specification with the owner.

Trees protected by a Tree Preservation Order cannot be pruned, reduced or felled without written consent from the council. This application is a request for that consent, usually because the tree is close to a property, showing signs of decline, or in need of routine crown management.

The applicant's own description is: The tree at the end of our garden, which has a TPO needs to be managed as the branches grow horizontally across our fence causing pressure to and damage to the top of the fence. I would like to remove the branches that…. The application was received by Bromsgrove and Redditch on 13 July 2026.

If you want to respond

Neighbours are formally notified only for trees inside a conservation area, but anyone can comment during the consultation window. Comments should focus on the tree's amenity value, health, or the impact of the proposed work — not the identity of the owner.
