Planning Application

What this application is

This TPO application concerns a hawthorn tree in Bromsgrove and Redditch and proposes removal. The council will assess the impact on public amenity and the tree's health before deciding whether to consent, refuse, or grant with a lighter specification.

Trees protected by a Tree Preservation Order cannot be pruned, reduced or felled without written consent from the council. This application is a request for that consent, usually because the tree is close to a property, showing signs of decline, or in need of routine crown management.

The applicant's own description is: Boundary shrubbery. Hazels coppice Laurel, Yew and Hawthorn - reduce and shape by 30%. Removed drbris. T1 Alder to reduce and shape crown by 30% to 40%. Remove any deadwood. Crow clean and thin. Remove debris. Holly tre…. The application was received by Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Council on 03 October 2025 and is currently marked pending consideration on the council register — see what that status means.

If you want to respond

Neighbours are formally notified only for trees inside a conservation area, but anyone can comment during the consultation window. Comments should focus on the tree's amenity value, health, or the impact of the proposed work — not the identity of the owner.
