What this application is

This TPO application proposes work to a protected tree in Redditch. Because the tree is subject to a Tree Preservation Order, written consent is required before any work is carried out.

Trees protected by a Tree Preservation Order cannot be pruned, reduced or felled without written consent from the council. This application is a request for that consent, usually because the tree is close to a property, showing signs of decline, or in need of routine crown management.

The applicant's own description is: One tree at the bottom of our garden is obviously dead, according to neighbours there was no green at all last year. We would like to have it cut down. The application was received by Redditch Borough Council on 29 June 2025 and is currently marked pending consideration on the council register — see what that status means.

Neighbours are formally notified only for trees inside a conservation area, but anyone can comment during the consultation window. Comments should focus on the tree's amenity value, health, or the impact of the proposed work — not the identity of the owner.
